About this Site

The California District Coordinator's Orders-Receipt-Editing (CORE) Website has been created for district testing coordinators to obtain information on the test administrations needs for the DPLT Aprenda 3®, La prueba de logros en español, Tercera edición (Aprenda 3) Assessment. Through this web site district testing coordinators will find test administration information and downloadable manuals, place initial orders for test materials, place orders for additional materials (if needed), upload student pre-ID data files, and correct student demographic data (Post Administration Data Management - PADM).

Login using the ID and password provided to you. If you did not receive login information contact the Pearson Customer Support Center (CSC) at 1-800-763-2306. To obtain the secure login ID and password, you must download and fill out the Test Security Agreement and the Superintendent Designee Form, obtain the signature of the district superintendent and fax to the Customer Support Center (fax number: 1-866-313-4090). The secure login information will be emailed to you within one business day.

DPLT Testing Regulations for English Learners

Spanish-speaking English learners in grades 8-11 are required to take the Designated Primary Language Test (DPLT) if they:

  • Will have attended U.S. schools less than 12 months on the first day of testing, regardless of whether they receive instruction in Spanish
  • Or receive instruction in Spanish
  • At the option of the school district, Spanish-speaking English learners who will have been in U.S. schools 12 months or longer and are not receiving instruction in Spanish may also take the DPLT.

Aprenda 3 is the Designated Primary Language Test used for testing students who meet the above criteria. Regulations pertaining to the STAR Program may be found on the CDE website at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/sr/admin.asp.

At the expense of the LEA, Pearson’s Aprenda 3 catalog materials may also be used for testing students who are:

  • in grades 1 and 12 (those grades outside of the DPLT and STS testing programs)
  • English-Only (EO) (e.g. students in dual immersion programs)
  • Initially identified as Fluent English Proficient (I-FEP), or
  • Redesignated Fluent English Proficient (R-FEP)

Catalog materials for these students may be found at the Pearson Education website

Please call the Customer Support Center at 1-800-763-2306 Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (PST) if you have any questions or would like to place an order for non-mandated Aprenda 3 materials.
